GENERAL Scratching, denting or marring machined surfaces can make parts unserviceable. Cleanliness is essential when servicing the unit. The following recommendations are intended as a general guide for regular care and maintenance. Operating under adverse conditions or sustained loads requires more frequent servicing. CHECKLIST 1. Check oil level with unit on vehicle and ram collapse. If low, fil to top of reservoir fil hole, locted at rear of housing. RESERVOIR FILL PLUG NOTE: 8e sure to fil through re_rvr fill ho. Nevr fill thugh motor/pump opening if. for insnc. motor he. be removed for serving. Filling throh moto/pump hole can cause overfHing and damae entire unit Use automatic transmission fluid. If that is not available, you may also use SAE 10W nondetergent motor oil (SAE 5W in extreme cold). Use the drain plug locted in the bottom front of the reservir. 3. If rams are leaking excesively, tighten paing nuts. Do not tighten more than 1/4 turn afer you feel the nut contac the packings. If leak continues, replace packings and wiper ring in nut. Over-tightening affects. cyindr operation and packing life. 4. Chec 3-way and 4-way valves for excssive oil leaks. Replac O-rings if they are damaged. 5. Periodiclly clean and tighten all electricl connecons. 6. At beginning of plowing season, insp and test battee. Recarge or replace, if necesry. Suggst MINIMUM vehicle elecical syem: 70 amp hr.l550 CCA Battery, 55 amp Alternator. 7. The pump inlet filter screen should be cleane whenever the pump is remove.
