The installation and system diskettes are also marked with therobot type and manufacturing number (see Figure 3).
What You Must Know Before You Use The RobotNormal maintenance and repair work usually only requires standardtools. Some repairs, however, require specific tools. A list of suggestedHand Tools is included in this introduction.The main disconnect should be switched off whenever work is carriedout in the control cabinet. Note that even though the power is switchedoff, the orange/yellow colored cables may be live. The reason for this isthat these cables are connected to external equipment and areconsequently not affected by the main switch on the controller.Circuit boards (printed boards and components) must NEVER behandled without Electro-Static-Discharge (ESD) protection suchas a wrist strap, in order not to damage them. Use the carry baglocated on the inside of the controller door.All personnel working with the robot system must be very familiarwith the safety regulations outlined in Chapter 1 (Safety). Incorrectoperation can damage the robot or injure someone.
