Due to the isolated input PS design, each node does not need individual fuse protection, but should still be fuse protected in strategic groups. Power Wiring / Shielding: No shield is required, however it is allowed and beneficial in harsh corrosive environments. If used, it should be EARTH terminated to a DIN rail or panel connection with as short a wire as possible. See the cable shield preparation and the node grounding sections for specific guidance. CAN Network Communications RTCnet and LINKnet HT nodes communicate with the master controller (i.e.: MicroNet) using the CAN protocol. Both RTCnet and LINKnet HT nodes support MicroNet dual CPU’s and failover operation. Note: RTCnet nodes have (2) redundant CAN ports and LINKnet HT nodes provide only (1) CAN port.
