This hardware change eliminates extremely rare race conditions where CPU programmer port activity with large ladder programs and specific ladder logic can cause a CPU hardware watchdog timeout, or a PLC CPU Hardware Fault. A power cycle is required to recover. In the hardware watchdog timeout case, no faults appear in the fault table. Release 6.02 is not available for the following IC697 CPUs: IC697CPU731, 732, 771, 772, 780, 788, and 789.
