When handling modules that are not installed, be sure to observe good ESD protection measures. If the protection label is still on the I/O terminal block, remove it before attempting to install the I/O module. Install the I/O module on base 1. Removing the module will cover the cable slot holders that connect the cables before installing the module. The ejector can be removed with pliers or by pressing out from the inside of the housing. 2. To install the I/O module, position the module so that the cable tray in the module housing is above the connecting cables. Connect the cable (cross section) Cable tray end view 46436 3. Align the module with the base and press the module down firmly. If resistance is felt, remove the module and check the keying (if present). Also make sure that the connecting cable is in the cable tray. 4. After placing the I/O module on the base, tighten its bolts to secure it. The recommended maximum torque is 9 in/lb. For I/O patch panels without special alignment slots (IC670CHS001, 002, and 003), inserting or removing I/O modules during workstation operation may result in incorrect data generation for the entire I/O workstation.
